In a meeting held at the Punjab Assembly Chamber, the Consul General of Iran in Lahore, MehranMovahedfar, was also present. During the meeting, prayers were offered for the late Iranian President EbrahimRaisi.
The discussions focused on enhancing parliamentary and economic relations between the two countries. Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan remarked that the late President EbrahimRaisi was a great scholar and a leader of the Muslim Ummah. He stated that Raisi’s martyrdom is an irreplaceable loss for the Muslim community. Malik Ahmad Khan emphasized the pleasant religious and cultural relations between Iran and Pakistan, noting that the friendly ties between the two nations are crucial for regional peace and stability. He stressed the importance of transforming the historical relations between Pakistan and Iran into commercial ties for mutual development.
He further stated that parliamentary connections would play a vital role in strengthening bilateral relations. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the journey towards stability and development continues, with Punjab’s first female Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, striving to resolve public issues.
On this occasion, Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza AmiriMoghaddam expressed that Iran values its brotherly and friendly relations with Pakistan. He noted that Punjab was progressing under the new government.
