TEHRAN – Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Major General Mohammad Bagheri has warned of lunching the “bigger intensity” operation if Israel continues with its terrorism activities.

He issued the warning during an interview with a local news agency after what he termed “heroic and brave operation” was launched to take revenge of assassination of Ismail Haniye, , the Hamas political bureau chief in Tehran, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Hezbollah as well as  IRGC Major General Abbas Nilfroushan who was in Beirut on an advisory mission.

The Iranian top commander said the “situation was no longer tolerable and thanks to God, the IRGC was able to target important bases of the Zionist regime with its very valuable missile operation,” IRNA reported.

In Tuesday night’s anti-Israeli operation dubbed “Wadeh Sadeq 2 or True Promise 2” he said three military bases of the Zionist regime, including the Mossad headquarters were targeted.

He said the IRGC and the Armed Forces of Iran are fully prepared for both in defensive and offensive domains, “and if the Zionist regime, which has gone crazy, is not controlled by its American and European backers and wants to continue such crimes or act against our sovereignty and territorial integrity, the operation like that of tonight (Tuesday) will be repeated with bigger intensity and all infrastructures of the regime will be targeted, the top Iranian general warned”.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the Tuesday night’s operation against Israeli military and security bases were an act of self-defense, warning of country’s stronger and more powerful response if the Israeli regime retaliates further.

“Eerier this evening (Tuesday), we exercised self-defense under Article 51 of the UN charter, targeting solely military & security sites in charge of genocide in Gaza and Lebanon”, Araghchi posted a message with a picture of war-ravaged Gaza on his X social media account.

“We did so after exercising tremendous restraint for almost two months, to give space for a ceasefire in Gaza”, he said, adding that “Our action is concluded unless Israeli regime decides to invite further retaliation, in that scenario, our response will be stronger and more powerful”.

“Israel’s enablers now have heightened responsibility to rein in the warmongers in Tel Aviv instead of getting involved in their folly”, the foreign minister said.
