Iranian Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami Nia has said that the country’s armed forces remain on “maximum alert” as uncertainty continues over the ceasefire with the United States.
Addressing a briefing in Mashhad, he stated that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy is responsible for securing the western part of the Strait of Hormuz, while the regular Iranian Navy oversees the eastern sector.
Akrami Nia claimed that Iranian forces had stopped the opposing side from reaching its goals, adding that “there is no room for withdrawal after this conflict.”
He further asserted, without providing evidence, that US military assets were destroyed at various bases across the Middle East during the confrontation, and warned that any replacement weapon shipments would not be permitted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
Praising Iran’s military performance, he said the conflict had demonstrated capabilities that the adversary had not expected.
