Iran Conveys Strait of Hormuz Conditions to US Through Pakistan

Third Qatar LNG shipment reaches Pakistan via Strait of Hormuz

Iran has conveyed its position and key conditions concerning the Strait of Hormuz to the United States through Pakistani intermediaries, Iranian media reported on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the foreign ministers of Iran and Oman have discussed a phased framework aimed at creating a practical mechanism for restoring safe navigation through the strategic waterway.

In a joint statement on Tuesday, the two sides underscored the need for consultations involving states bordering the Gulf to address arrangements related to the strait.

Under the proposed Iran-Oman framework, a temporary joint shipping corridor would be established through the Strait of Hormuz. The two sides also agreed to work together on a project to detect and remove mines from the waterway.

The statement said technical talks between Iran and Oman would continue with the objective of reaching an agreement on a permanent maritime corridor and determining future mechanisms for managing navigation through Strait of Hormuz.
