Iqra University has been ranked among the top 300 varsities of Asia by the QS Asia Universities Rankings 2019 and became the only private university in the business category to achieve this honour, says a press release.
According to QS World University Ranking, Iqra University has achieved 264th position in Asian universities rankings.
The QS World University Rankings include 29 public and private universities in Pakistan, out of which 4 are the private universities from Punjab while there are no private universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Among these universities in Sindh, there are 5 government universities, including Jamia Karachi, Sindh University, Mehran University, NED University and Dow University and out them, two are general, two are engineering, and one belongs to medical category. In business category the only university which got nomination is Iqra University.
For first time, Iqra University has joined QS international ranking. The above mentioned public sector universities had been established for more than 50 years, while Iqra University has achieved this milestone within only 18 years of its establishment. In addition, Iqra University has been cited for the best faculty-student ratio in this ranking.
The QS World Rankings compile these rankings based on various indicators which include the University’s academic credentials, faculty student ratio, PhD teachers, research posts citations, faculty research papers, international research networks, international faculty, international students and exchange program students.
