Former provincial minister and PPP central leader Saeed Ghani said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Hakeem-ul-Ummat, instilled a sense of self-determination among the youth, gave the nation a lesson of awareness and gave a message of solidarity to the Muslim Ummah through his poetry.
He expressed these views while addressing a function organized on the occasion of the 146th birth anniversary of poet Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal at The Luminary Learning Circle Foundation (LLCF), a renowned academic literary and welfare organization run under the auspices of Engineer Muhammad Najeeb Haroon and renowned cricketer Javed Miandad on Thursday.
Engineer Najeeb Haroon, legendary cricketer Javed Miandad and others also spoke on the occasion. The event was attended by a large number of academic, literary, social and political figures as well as children, their parents and teachers.
At the occasion, the organizers including the chairman Najeeb Haroon, Javed Miandad, literary and social personality Samreen Khan and other speakers praised the former minister Saeed Ghani on the efforts for education, training of teachers to raise the standard of education in Sindh, providing furniture, construction and repair of buildings of educational institutions, recruitment of more than 50,000 qualified teachers on merit basis. Local Government Minister’s position, including making idol schools active.
During the visit to the school building, the former minister appreciated the facilities provided in the institution provided by the organizers. In the special ceremony to mark Iqbal Day, young children presented a fine tableau on the lamp of knowledge of “Allama Muhammad Iqbal” and presented Iqbal’s thoughts in a beautiful way, on which the participants also praised.
