Special Assistant to PM on National Security Division and Strategic Policy Planning Dr Moeed Yusuf while delivering keynote address at the re-launch of the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) described the importance and role of think tanks in the contemporary world and emphasized the need for close collaboration between policymakers and think
tanks.
Dr Moeed Yusuf briefly described efforts to link think tanks to policymakers through national security division so their input can be channelized into policy making.
Prime Minister’s special aide on security also encouraged partnership between think tanks, local and international, to generate ideas and solutions to problems. He said that IPRI, under the NSD, will be open to all partnerships, local or international.
In his address, Dr Moeed briefly explained Pakistan’s vision of economic security and connectivity and deplored the Indian expansionist designs in the region as an obstacle to regional peace and economic development.
He insisted on a partnership between think tanks, local and international, to create ideas and also solve the problems with a brilliant solution. On the occasion SAPM on National Security suggested linkages between think tanks and policymakers.
The chief guest was earlier briefed about various initiatives of the IPRI and its work for regional peace and development of economy.
