Int’l moot on linguistics, multidisciplinary research concludes at WUM

Three days International conference on Linguistics and Multidisciplinary Research at Women University Multan concluded with the declaration that the use of modern tools for the development of language is the need of the hour, technology will be used to explore the history of language, such conferences will be held in future also. Addressing the closing ceremony Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Uzma Quraishi said that many questions of linguists overlap with the fields of life sciences, social sciences, and humanities, thus making linguistics a multidisciplinary field.

As a multidisciplinary field, linguistics seeks to understand how language is stored in the human mind/brain and how it is part of human everyday behavior through its neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, anthropology, sociology, and how can it be tested through the fields of computer science.

It is a pleasure that Women University hosted such a conference that has open new dimensions in the field of linguistics. Dr. Uzma Quraishi appreciated department of English for organizing a successful conference.

The focal person/ Chairperson of English department, Dr. Mamoona Khan, said that in this conference 124 scholars have presented their research papers focusing on linguistics and applied linguistics, foreign language teaching and professional development.

They shared their research papers on a wide range of topics, and had an opportunity to exchange latest scientific information.
