Internet users may experience reduced speeds and intermittent connectivity in the coming days, as the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) announced maintenance work on the submarine cable system.
In a statement shared on X on Sunday, PTCL said the repair work is being carried out as part of a scheduled international consortium operation to address a fault in one of its undersea cable links.
The maintenance activity is set to begin on May 11, 2026, and could continue until May 18, during which users may notice service slowdowns, particularly in the evening hours when network traffic is typically higher.

PTCL warned that customers might experience temporary degradation in internet performance throughout this period and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
This marks the second such disruption in recent weeks, following a similar maintenance exercise conducted from April 14 to April 20.
