In the light of special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, a seminar on International Women’s Day was organized at the Social Welfare Complex to raise awareness about women’s rights in the society.

Addressing the seminar, Deputy Director Social Welfare Azhar Abbas Adil said that the existing institutions for the welfare of women are playing a dynamic and active role as the welfare of women is a mission which should be fulfilled in all circumstances.

Women need to be educated to be aware of their rights and status.

He said that information and awareness about programs for women to participate in social activities and build self-confidence should be continued.

They are being provided ample opportunities to showcase their talents in the socio-economic field.

Other speakers said that women deserve more attention and it is the common responsibility of the society to bring them into the national mainstream.
