International Labor Day being observed today

ISLAMABAD  –  International Labor Day is being observed today (Wednesday) with a renewed commitment to upholding workers’ rights.

The theme of this year’s day is to ‘ensure workplace safety and health amidst climate change’.

Various public and private organizations are hosting the conferences, seminars, marches, and walks to honor the ultimate sacrifices of laborers.

Like the other parts of the world,  Labor Day is being observed in Pakistan.

The special rallies and gatherings are being held in different parts of the country.

The labourers, however, unaware of their rights are busy with their routine hard work.

“Whether anyone really support?,” said a labourer working on a construction site while responding to a question by this scribe that whether he received any aid or support from the government or any other.

He said he spent his 40 years of life working as a labourer, but now, meeting the expenses of daily needs is not possible.
