International Iqbal Conference concludes Urdu language owes to Iqbal’s poetry for richness, evolutionary development: Dr Ayub Sabir

Though Iqbal chose Urdu, English and Persian to express himself but his choice for Urdu as medium of expression had surpassed his likeness for other two languages.
This was said by eminent scholar of Iqbaliyat Dr AyubSabir while addressing the International Iqbal Conference on the subject of ‘’Iqbal and Urdu’’, organized by National Language Promotion Department in connection with Iqbal’s 143rd Birthday (Born: Nov 9, 1877-April 21, 1938) on Tuesday.
This was the second day of the two-day international conference and Dr Ayub Sabir was among the panel of keynote speakers.
He said that Iqbal’s poetry played an important role in the development of the Urdu language. On Tuesday, three sessions were held on Tuesday, the second day of the two day
Besides, Dr Ayub Sabir, senior poet and critic Dr Tehseen Firaqi, Dr Vila Syed from Egypt, Dr Rauf Parekh, Dr Asif Awan, Dr Tahir Hameed Tanoli, Dr Munawar Hashmi, Mehboob Zafar, Dr Iftikhar Khokhar, Dr Zeenat Afshan, Dr SairaBatool, Dr Bibi Ameena, Dr Aslam Ansari, Dr Najeeb Jamal, Dr Anna SovaRova (Russia), Dr Arshad Sakhir Awan, Dr Muhammad Asif, Dr Qamar Iqbal, Dr Farooq Adil, Dr Farhat Abbas, Dr ZahidHasan Chughtai, Dr Humaira Shahbaz,Adrees Azad, Dr Rafi-ud-din Hashmi, Dr Riaz Majeed, Dr Zahid MunirAamir, Dr Haroon-ur-Rasheed Tabassum, Dr Arshad Awaisi, Dr Aslam Zia, Dr Ghazi Ilm-ud-din, Dr Abdur Rauf Rafiqui, Dr Rashid Mateen, Dr Sheeraz Zaid, Dr Shahida Rasool, Ijaz-ul-HaqIjaz and Dr Abdul Aziz Sahir expressed their views on the occasion.
While addressing the conference, they said Iqbal was a universal poet and philosopher.
He used both Urdu and Persian as mediums of his poetry and to address the Islamic world.Iqbal brought honour for himself and the subcontinent through his Persian poetry and having earned a place for himself in Persian poetry, adopted Urdu as a means of poetical expression. Though his poetry, Allama Iqbal played a very constructive role in enhancing the richness of the Urdu language.
