Info secy visits KPC, vows to solve journalists’ issues 


Secretary Information Abdul Rasheed Solangi on the invitation of office-bearers visited Karachi Press Club (KPC) along with Director General Public Relations Ghulam-us-Saqlain, Director Press Information Muhammad Saleem Khan and Director Administration Akhtar Ali Surhio, here on Monday.

The matters relating to formation of Media Coordination Committee, endowment fund for journalists and financial assistance to journalists were discussed on the occasion. The Secretary Information thanked the office-bearers of KPC for inviting him along with his team to the club. “Information Department and journalists community has a unique bond as both are essential for each other with regard for better performance,” he said.

Solangi further said that on the directives of Minister Information, he is visiting media houses and interacting with journalist community for better coordination and elaborating government view points in a better way. “By  creating better coordination between Information Department and journalist communit,y the problems of media workers could also be resolved without any undue delay,” he observed.

He said that his doors were open for media man and they could come to him for solutions to their problems at any time. “As Secretary Information it was his prime duty to ensure that the grievances of journalists are resolved as soon as possible,” he opined. He directed DG PRs and Director Press Information to prepare summary for endowment fund for journalists in consultation of Karachi Press Club.

He further directed for chalking out Terms of Reference for formation of media coordination committee to discuss and resolve problems of  mediamen.

President Karachi Press Club Fazil Jamili, Secretary Rizwan Bhatti, Treasurer Waheed Rajpar member governing body Rasheed Memon, Senior Journalists Saqib Sagheer, Zulfiqar Waohoocho, Salahuddin Abbasi and others were also present on the occasion. Traditional Sindhi Topi and Ajrak were also presented to Secretary Information and his team.
