Under the auspices of Marble Mines and Industries Development Association, industrialists of Mardan Industrial Estate on Monday staged a protest against fuel price adjustment, forward tax, extra tax and general sale tax on electricity bills.

Protesters held banners and chanted slogans against increase in electricity prices, extra tax, farad tax and GST. Protesters held banners on which slogans were written in support of their demands.

Protesters also blocked Main Nowshera Road for all kinds of traffic. The protest was led by provincial Chairmen of Marble Mines and Industries Development Association Muhammad Sajjad Khan, Younis Khan, Afzal Shah Khattak and Wisal Khan.

Addressing the protesters, Muhammad Sajjad Khan, Younis Khan, Afzal Shah Khattak, Wisal Khan and others said that the federal government was bent on closing down the marble industry by increasing the fuel price adjustment in electricity bills.

However, marble manufacturers are paying millions of rupees in taxes to the government.
