A delegation of leading industrialistsheld a meeting with Sindh Minister of Industries Jam IkramullahDharejo on Wednesday. Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah,Commissioner IftikharShallwani, Additional IGGhulamNabiMemon, the Secretary Labour and Secretary Industries also attended the meeting.
The delegation comprised members from Karachi Chamber of Commerce, Site Association, Korangi Industrial Area and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry. During the meeting, the industrialists informed the minister about the problems encountered during the lockdown. They said that business community supports the lockdown decision of the provincial government. Dharejo appreciated the business leaders’ support but said SOPs the were given to all manufacturers should be followed during lockdown. Manufacturers will send online applications to the departmentand after inspection and permission will be given, the minister told the delegation.
The industry that is allowed to open has to ensure the execution of the SOPs, said the Chief Secretary, adding manufacturers will have to give undertaking with regard to SOPs. Lockdown has led to positive results from the coronavirus prevention,Mumtaz Shah said and told the visitors that safety of the workers will be ensured.
The delegation assured the execution of all SOPs provided by the Government of Sindh. And said that although the Government of Sindh is taking drastic measures but it has saved human lives.
