Indonesian Gastronomy Week: Cultural dance, culinary promoted

The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesian in collaboration with Karachi Marriott Hotel is organizing Indonesian Gastronomy Week at Nami Zumi Restaurant in Marriott Hotel in Karachi from 17-21 March 2023.

The opening of the event was attended by Governor of Sindh, Mr. Kamran Tessori and Commissioner of Karachi, Mr. Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Consul Generals and other diplomatic community as well as Pakistani business community.

Indonesian Consul General, Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat, in his Opening Remarks delivered his thanks to Marriott Hotel Katachi for the cooperation to promote Indonesian culinary. Indeed, there used to be two popular Indonesian restaurants in Karachi back in 90’s, namely Bali Restaurant in Tarikh Road and Sarinah Restaurant near Bilawal House.

 

This event will become momentum to revive the Indonesian cuisines in Pakistan. For this, Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi welcome any initiative from the Pakistani business community to open Indonesian restaurant. Mr. Raza Abas thanked Indonesian Consulate for the cooperation.

He also welcomed all the guest for coming to the restaurant and hoped that this event will become special for the guests. The event is also enlivened by the Indonesian traditional dances performed by Indonesian researchers from University of North Sumatera (Indonesia) who are in Karachi for conducting joint research with ICCBS of University of Karachi.
