Indian troops martyr two Kashmiri youth in held valley

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two more youth, today, raising the number of the slain youth to three from yesterday.
The troops martyred the two youth during a cordon and search operation in Bijbehara area of Islamabad district, today. Four persons were critically injured after explosive material of the troops went off in the operation site. Indian troops killed one youth during a similar operation in Tral area of Pulwama district, yesterday. The troops also launched cordon and search operations in Shopian, Pulwama and Badgam districts.Meanwhile, a report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said India has usurped all basic and democratic rights including right to life of the people of Kashmir and is violating global laws and agreements by depriving them of all their fundamental rights and freedoms. It said that the world’s so-called largest democracy had made IIOJK a living hell for the Kashmiri people. The report pointed out that the August 05, 2019 illegal moves have further exposed India’s disregard for democratic norms in IIOJK and now it is issuing domiciles to non-Kashmiris in clear violation of the UN resolutions and international law to change the demographic composition of the territory.
The Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement, Khawaja Firdous, addressing a gathering at Dub in Ganderbal, today, said that lasting peace could not be established in South Asia without settling the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and Kashmiris’ aspirations.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar addressing a press conference in Srinagar admitted that DNA samples of families from Rajouri district and three of their relatives killed in an encounter in Shopian district in July have matched with each other. The disclosure has thus corroborated the families’ claims that the Indian army had killed the youth in a fake encounter on July 18 at Amshipora area of Shopian district.
The Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Abdul Samad Inqilabi and Muhammad Sharif Sartaj in their statements and addresses strongly condemned the brutal murder of a prominent lawyer, Babar Qadri, by unknown gunmen in of Srinagar, yesterday. The Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights, Mohammad Ahsan Untoo, along with his colleagues visited the residence of Advocate Qadri on Friday and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. The APHC-AJK chapter at a meeting in Islamabad and the Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe, Ali Raza Syed, in a statement in Brussels, also expressed grief over the cold-blooded murder of Advocate Babar Qadri.
International media watchdog, Reporters Without Borders in a statement issued in Paris denounced the recent assault on Kashmiri journalist, Aaqib Javaid, by Indian police after summoning him into a police station in Srinagar. Daniel Bastard, the head of RSF’s Asia-Pacific desk said, it is absolutely unacceptable that members of the police manhandled, threatened and intimidated a journalist who just did his job.
In Geneva, the representatives of reputed international human rights watchdogs taking part in the ongoing 45th session of the UN Human Rights Council demanded a comprehensive independent investigation into the grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in IIOJK. The speakers were Professor Mehmath Shakru Guzel of World Muslim Congress, Ms Warda Najum of Muslim Women Union, and Eman Gilani of Community Human Rights and Advocacy Center.—KMS
