Indian troops have launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in over a dozen villages near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The joint operation by the Army and police in the Gursai area of Mendhar subdivision is being carried out ahead of Indian Independence Day, August 15.
The forces personnel have cordoned off over a dozen villages, including Salwah, Sarooti, Gursai Top, Sanai, Keri Kanga and Terkhara and launched a search operation.
Special motor vehicle check-points have also been set up on all main roads in the districts.—KMS
