The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that brutal Indian troops have turned the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a hell for its inhabitants for demanding their UN-recognized right to self-determination.

The APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that Indian troops were carrying out violent cordon and search operations in different areas of Srinagar, Badgam, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Islamabad, Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian, Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu and other districts on a daily basis to intimidate the Kashmiris into submission. He said that during these operations, the troops barge into residential houses, harass the inmates including women and children and vandalize the household goods. However, he maintained that the worst Indian state terrorism has failed to subdue the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment and they are determined to continue their struggle till complete success.

APHC leader, Advocate Davinder Singh Behl, in a statement issued in Jammu urged the international community to play its role in the settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions to save the Kashmiri people from the Indian brutalities and to ensure durable peace in South Asia.

Meanwhile, the occupation authorities kept senior APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, under house detention and disallowed him to offer Juma prayers at Jamia Masjid, Srinagar. The Mirwaiz has been under continued house arrest since August 05, 2019 when the Modi regime repealed the special status of IIOJK.

On the other hand, Washington-based think tank, Pew Research Center in its latest report said that India saw the highest level of religious hostilities during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. It said, Islamophobic hashtags like #CoronaJihad were circulated widely on social media in India, accusing the Muslims of spreading the corona virus. It added that even a BJP legislator from the Uttar Pradesh state called for the boycott of Muslim vendors, accusing them of “infecting vegetables with saliva”.—KMS
