INDIAN Muslims are facing most difficult times under Modi junta. The breakout of Covid-19 has been used as another excuse to up the ante against them. Especially the craziness of Indian media has further provoked anti-Muslim sentiments and religious hatred.
Voices are now rising within India against the vicious cycle of violence unleashed against the Muslims by RSS inspired terrorists who have full backing and support of ruling BJP. Arundhati Roy, an Indian Human Rights Activist, in an interview the other day said that Indian Muslims are facing climate of genocide amidst Covid-19. Describing what is happening with Muslims, she said over the last couple of years there has been so many instances of mob lynching and George Floyd type killings in which Hindu vigilante carried out killings and the police, legal system and political climate help them get away with these barbaric acts. This clearly indicates that India has become a living hell for Muslims and they have no place to find solace and justice, as the very legal system has also become handicapped and hostage at the hands of these Hindus supremacists. These episodes of violence against Muslim minority is nothing new in India as memories of 2002 Gujarat massacre are still fresh in the minds of many. In fact Modi has ridden to power on that legacy and what is happening now under him was very much anticipated. However, one is totally surprised when international community is not ready to take any punitive action against Indian government for sheer disregard to humanity. The UN, OIC and other major capitals need to wake up and take appropriate steps to protect the Muslims.
