Latest reports say India is to announce within next few days its fresh moves to bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir state making Jammu as a separate state, Kashmir Valley and Ladakh to be annexed directly to Delhi.
This move and concentration of more troops in held Kashmir was condemned by former Premier of AJK, now Supremo of Muslim Conference Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan in his Saturday afternoon Kashmir situation statement here shared with Pakistan Observer. “We condemn this move as it is shameful violation of the UN Security Council’s Kashmir resolutions signed by India. In the UN documents J&K state as a whole is a disputed region whose final solution has got to be obtained via UN arranged plebiscite for which tripartite peaceful negotiations among Pakistan, India and Kashmiris should be held sooner the better”, he urged”.
“Fresh Indian army build-up in held Kashmir will not slow down the pace of peaceful Kashmir struggle. Indian armed forces concentration has created a new threatening situation. It calls for urgent intervention of UN”, he stressed. Latest reports indicate that within coming few days Indian government is going to announce division of occupied Jammu and Kashmir making Jammu as a separate state, Kashmir Valley and Ladakh to be annexed directly to Delhi. “I appeal to the UNO and permanent members of the Security Council to thwart this diabolic game”, he appealed.
