Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that the Indian Army Chief’s acknowledgement of Pakistan’s efforts for peace is a victory of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Pakistan Army and 220 million Pakistanis.

“If India wants peace in the region, it should halt the oppression and abuse of human rights in Kashmir and resolve the dispute in accordance with UN resolutions”, he stressed and added that Pakistan’s armed forces are the pride of 220 million Pakistanis.

Ch Sarwar said that those who criticise national institutions cannot be the well-wishers of the country.

Pakistan has got rid of terrorism only due to the sacrifices made by our armed forces, he said.

In a statement issued from Governor’s House Lahore on Sunday, Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar said that every Pakistani should give priority to the national interest over personal interests.

The strength of Pakistan lies in the strength of the national institutions and conspiracies to destabilize the country will fail.

Every Pakistani stands united with the Armed Forces and we are proud that Pakistan has one of the best Armies in the world that has the ability to give a befitting response to enemies on every front, he added.

Ch Sarwar said that today Pakistan is moving in the right direction in every sector. We all have to work together to strengthen all the institutions including the defence of Pakistan because only the strength of the institutions will make Pakistan strong and prosperous.

The incumbent government is taking practical steps for strengthening of institutions, he added.

The governor while commenting on the acknowledgement of Pakistan’s efforts for peace by the Indian Army Chief said that there is no doubt that the sacrifices made by Pakistan for peace in the region are unparalleled and not only the Indian Army Chief but international organizations are also acknowledging Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace and stability.

Regional peace is not possible without the resolution of the Kashmir dispute as per the UN resolutions and Pakistan will continue to highlight this issue on every international forum under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, he reiterated.
