The Indian embassy in the Italian capital Rome said that the Indian government has signed a memoran-dum of understanding with the United Nations World Food Program based on which the both will distribute food grains inside Afghanistan.
The agreement comes days after India supplied three tonnes of medicines as part of its fourth batch of medical assistance to Afghanistan. “As part of our humanitarian assistance, India sup-plied the fourth batch of medical assistance consist-ing of 3 tonnes of essential life-saving medicines to Afghanistan. The same was handed over to the In-dira Gandi Hospital in Kabul.” Said Ministry of External Affairs on Friday. The Ministry further said that the Indian govern-ment is committed to helping the vulnerable people of Afghanistan by providing humanitarian aid.
It also added that India will provide further batches of humanitarian assistance consisting of medicines and food grains to the Afghan people.
