In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti has said that the Modi-led fascist Indian government wants to keep the Kashmiris, especially youth, under surveillance so as to tighten its stranglehold over what they say, think or do.
Mehbooba Mufti was responding to reporters in Srinagar when asked about the Modi regime’s proposal to create unique IDs for families in IIOJK.
She said, “They [BJP] feel the people here are angry with their August 5, 2019 decision of the revocation of Article 370. So, it is part of that chain only”. “.….They want to keep tabs over what the youth say, think, or do. They have created an atmosphere of violence here. They want to suffocate the people here with an iron grip”.
When asked about the occupation authorities’ latest order asking all lessees to immediately hand over the possession of the land, she maintained that while the Indian government has no answer to China’s actions on the border, it was taking away the land allotted on lease to the people in IIOJK.
Mehbooba described the recent tension between India and China on the border in Arunachal Pradesh as “a very sorry state of affairs” saying it was unfortunate that the BJP was doing nothing about it. In this regard, she said, “They have occupied our land in Ladakh. They have also occupied land in Arunachal Pradesh, as per the statement by a BJP MP. But, unfortunately, the BJP is doing nothing about it”, adding, “Our soldiers have been beaten by them, they are not allowed to retaliate. This is a very sorry state of affairs”.—KMS
