India test-fires ‘advanced’ supersonic cruise missile


India has test-fired a naval variant of the supersonic cruise missile, the state-run Defence Research and Development Organisation has said. “Advanced sea to sea variant of BrahMos Supersonic Cruise missile was tested from INS Visakhapatnam (destroyer) today.

The missile hit the designated target ship precisely,” the DRDO said on Twitter. The Indian navy termed the test-firing of the “extended-range” BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from INS Visakhapatnam, the country’s newest indigenously-built guided-missile destroyer a “twin achievement.” Anadolu Agency
