Independence Day celebration at UoE

The 76th Independence Day of beloved Country Pakistan was celebrated with patriotic zeal at all Campuses of University of Education. The central flag hoisting ceremony was held at the main Campus of University of Education, Township, Lahore.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (H.I., S.I.) hoisted the National Flag. All the Directors/Principals, faculty members and staff of the University were present on that occasion. While addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (H.I., S.I.) said independence is the greatest reward of Allah and we should be thankful to Him for this blessing. He said winning independence on 14th August 1947 was just a first step towards the destiny. Real independence is achieving the goal of becoming self-reliant in all fields of life. We should follow principles of unity, discipline and faith laid down by our founding Father and stay together to meet the challenges, he added. Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (H.I, S.I.) said we the educated class of society should be more conscious about the prosperity of Pakistan. It is our collective responsibility to play our role in transforming Pakistan into a strong, prosperous and enlightened country.

Speaking on this occasion, the chief guest of the event, renowned scholar and writer of many books on History of Pakistan and Movement of Pakistan Prof. Dr. Iqbal Chawla said that since its establishment, Pakistan has been in the eyes of the enemies because it is that country, that gave strength to Muslims all over the world.

So, we need to make this country stronger in all sectors including defense, economy and education. On this occasion, apart from showing a special documentary to the participants, the students of UE tied the knot by singing songs in their mesmerizing voices. At the end, the Vice Chancellor and the chief guest planted saplings and prayed for the development and prosperity of the country.
