Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Sheikh has alleged that foreign investors are discouraged over the delaying tactics adopted by Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub. In his video message on Tuesday, minister Imtiaz Sheikh has said that work on the important Thar Coal project included in the CPEC could not be started, despite the passage of eight months as the Chinese company was not allowed for Thar Coal Block VI. He went on that the work could not start till now. Thirteen hundred and twenty megawatts power project is also to be set up from Thar Coal Block VI coal. ۔ The energy minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has also been requested to pay attention to this issue, Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub is using delaying tactics even though Thar Coal Block is an approved project included in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project. A few days back, Imtiaz Sheikh has asserted that almost 12 wind power projects of 600 megawatts will become fully operational and functional by this year’s December. Addressing a press conference here, Imtiaz Shaikh informed that the development was in progress for 12 power projects across the wind-corridors of Jhimpir and Jamshoro. “The eco-friendly projects will be furnished by December 2020,” he added. “Each project will have the capacity to produce 50 megawatts of eco-friendly and cheap energy from the natural wind corridors, consuming no fuel whatsoever,” he remarked. The provincial energy minister informed that Sindh has the potential to resolve the energy crisis of Pakistan. “In pursuance of the vision of Bilawal Bhutto and Chief Minister Sindh, speedy work on all the development projects is underway,” he claimed.
