Pakistan Peoples Party senator Maula Bux Chandio has said that Imran Khan is trying to blackmail the federal government by threatening to resign en masse from assemblies.

The days when Imran Khan used to get illegal benefits were over now, he said while speaking to journalists at a programme held at his residence to mark the 55th foundation day of his party. He said that he would remain loyal to Bhutto’s party the rest of his life.

The army the world over remained apolitical but in this country unfortunately some parties had tried to associate themselves with the army, he said. He congratulated new army leadership following recent change of command and said that those who were interested in show-off did not know real politics. Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari now talked like a statesman because he was a real politician, he said.

He said that Imran Khan had lost his senses after facing defeat and that was why he was talking about resignations from assemblies only to blackmail the government. He was doing this to gain some favour but he would fail because the days of his seeking favours were over now, he said.

He said that Asif Ali Zardari had raised the slogan of Pakistan khappay after the assassination of party chairperson Benazir Bhutto but he did not utter any word about breaking up the country. He said that a puppet had made Pakistan bankrupt. He had also tried to create chaos in the army and masses under a conspiracy, he said.

He said that there was none to challenge Altaf Hussain and Imran Khan was not more powerful than Hussain. Imran Khan should desist from attacking institutions, he said. In a lighter vein he said that he had trusted the words of Rana Sanaullah and that was why Imran Khan would not reach Rawalpindi. If PTI was interested in election then it should talk to prime minister, he said. He said that Imran Khan could adopt a political path for politics instead of hurling abuses. The masses had grown irrelevant with regard to Imran Khan’s politics, he said.
