Imran Riaz Khan secures bail in Zaman Park attack case

LAHORE – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday accepted Imran Riaz’s bail plea in the Zaman Park attack case.

Judge Arshad Javaid Chadhar of the Anti-Terrorism Court passed the order, and directed Imran Riaz to submit a surety bond of Rs100,000.

Imran Riaz was arrested on March 27 for attacking and vandalizing the police.

The police had requested physical remand of Imran Riaz a week ago in the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court.

Earlier, the court had given the prosecution a last chance to present the record, ordering it to present it.

The defendant’s lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq said that the prosecution did not present the record of the case.

The prosecution wanted to keep the journalist in jail for a longer period.

Later, the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court adjourned the hearing on journalist Imran Riaz Khan’s bail application for not presenting the record.

Journalist Imran Riaz Khan had filed the bail plea from jail.

Imran Riaz Khan’s lawyers Asad Mansoor Butt, Azhar Siddiqu and Mian Ali Ashfaq were present in front of the court.
