“Prime Minister Imran Khan is rapidly running out of options. He is no longer in a position to get a new Chief Minister elected from Punjab.

The real problem for him is to get a new chief minister elected, not the removal of Usman Buzdar.

” This was stated by PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui while talking to a private TV channel here today.

He said that in the House of 371, PTI with its 184 members had the support of ten members of PML-Q and one member of Rah-e-Haq Party.

Four members are independent. The total number of Pro-PTI members was 195.The opposition consists of 165 members of PML-N and 7 members of PPP, making a total of 172.

The difference between the opposition and the government is only of 17 members.Senator Irfan Siddiqui said that even if the Prime Minister under any pressure removed Usman Buzdar, he would not be in a position to get Chaudhry Pervez Elahi or anyone else elected as Chief Minister.

Because to do so He would need support of at least 186 members which he does not have.Even if PTI get a total of 15 votes from PML-Q, Rah-e-Haq Party and Independent members, they will still need support of 171 out of 184 members of their own party, which are not available to them in the currently.

There are many factions in PTI including Tareen and Aleem group. Each faction has its own agenda, but they all will unite against the candidate nominated by Imran Khan.

Replying to a question, Senator Irfan Siddiqui said that at present Imran Khan has lost the scope of any kind of bargaining in Punjab.

PML-Q has already realized that Imran Khan is no longer in a position to offer anything to anyone in Punjab.—PR
