Former prime minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, has issued directives to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to actively engage in discussions on federal platforms, including the SIFC, and to collaborate with security agencies to uphold provincial rights.

The instructions were conveyed during a crucial meeting between Chief Minister Gandapur and Imran Khan at Adiala Jail on Saturday. Information Advisor to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, shared details of the meeting with the media, highlighting its significance in addressing key political issues.

According to Barrister Saif, Chief Minister Gandapur sought guidance from Imran Khan on various political matters, particularly concerning the upcoming Senate elections. The PTI founder was reportedly consulted on the selection of candidates from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and his approval was sought for the proposed nominees. Furthermore, Gandapur provided Khan with a comprehensive briefing on his recent meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which discussions regarding provincial rights took center stage. Khan emphasised the importance of continued efforts in this regard and instructed the CM to actively participate in discussions on federal platforms such as the SIFC.

The meeting also addressed concerns regarding peace and security in the province, particularly in light of deadly attack in North Waziristan.
