Punjab Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that the grandson of the holy Prophet (SAWW) Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions sacrificed lives for the sake of truth and justice.
“In the battle of truth and falsehood in the field of Karbala, principle and Islamic position were of real importance, not numbers,” he added.
Abdul Aleem Khan said that the real teachings of Islam are to stand firm in the face of evil without any favour or fear. The senior minister said that the grandson of the holy Prophet (SAWW) along with 72 martyrs taught human history how to survive, adding that every followers should pledge to follow the true message driven by those sacrifices.
He said that we must stand firm against the forces of evil. Abdul Aleem Khan appealed that on the occasion of Ashura, we should all pledge security and mutual unity of the country and the nation to spread the message of Islam beyond sectarian differences. The senior minister further said that despite the passage of 1400 years, the spirit of the message for which Imam Hussain and his companions fought this battle is still alive today and will not be forgotten till the end of time.
