In a renewed push against unauthorized constructions, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has ramped up its operations, following a strict Zero Tolerance Policy. On September 22, 2024, the SBCA carried out a series of demolitions in Karachi’s District Central, targeting illegally constructed floors on various plots. Key actions included the demolition of an illegal fifth-floor RCC slab at Plot No. 2.E.4/13, and the removal of a third-floor RCC slab at Plot No. 2.D.9/4 due to safety concerns.
Additionally, the fifth and sixth floors were demolished at Plot No. 2.F.6/13 to bring the building in line with regulations. Similar demolitions were carried out at several other locations, including Plot No. 9/4.2D in Nazimabad, Plot C 25 in Block 17, Gulberg, and Plot R 114 in Block 17, FB Area. These actions were conducted under the supervision of District Central officials, who ensured the demolitions were executed safely and efficiently.
