ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has allowed Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University to release the results of the MDCAT exam 2024.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir issued the order during the hearing of petitions seeking annulment of the medical admission test due to out-of-syllabus questions.
A day earlier, the high court had barred the university from declaring the results.
During today’s hearing, the Registrar of PMDC, the university registrar, and other officials appeared in court. The PMDC registrar stated that a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Professor Umar, Vice Chancellor of Rawalpindi Medical College.
The university registrar informed the court that there were only six questions that were at a higher level and grace marks were awarded to the candidates. He confirmed that the results are ready.
The court was informed question papers are taken back from candidates in order ensure transparency as some elements in market could use them to publish guides for students.
Later, the court granted conditional permission to the authorities to announce the MDCAT results 2024.
The PMDC registrar requested the court to grant time until tomorrow morning to provide detailed information in the case. He said a meeting of the university officials will be held at 10:30 am tomorrow.
The IHC judge also ordered the students to appoint their representatives for court hearings and adjourned the case till tomorrow, September 27.
