IGP emphasizes police force training, efficiency

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Riffat Mukhtar Raja, a high-level Police Executive Board meeting convened at the Central Police Office on Tuesday. The session witnessed the participation of top-ranking officials, including Additional IGPs, DIGPs, and other senior officers, covering various critical agendas. Led by IGP Riffat Mukhtar Raja, the meeting delved into several significant topics, with a comprehensive agenda discussed thoroughly.

The session commenced with a detailed briefing from the DIGP Establishment, paving the way for key discussions on crucial matters pertaining to the career progression of newly recruited personnel and ex-military police officers. In response to the discussions, IGP Riffat Mukhtar Raja established a specialized committee comprising senior DIGPs, SSPs, and a SP.

This committee is entrusted with formulating actionable recommendations concerning the responsibilities, promotions, appointments, and transfers of the newly recruited Inspectors Legal, Investigations, and ex-military police personnel. Expressing optimism, IGP Riffat Mukhtar Raja highlighted the transformative impact expected with the integration of Inspectors Legal and Investigation within the Sindh Police.

He stressed the importance of ongoing training to align with modern investigative standards and emphasized proactive measures to equip officers with necessary skills. Furthermore, the meeting underscored the role of DIGPs in overseeing investigation departments within their respective zones and ranges. It was unanimously recommended to link the promotion of investigation officers to their performance, reflecting a commitment to meritocracy and efficiency. The meeting also addressed recommendations for the transfer and postings of 2000 ex-military police personnel recruited in 2011. The objective is to optimize organizational effectiveness.
