Inspector General of Police Sindh (IGP) Raffat Mukhtar Raja on Wednesday chaired a crucial meeting via video link to address the prevailing law and order situation and police initiatives in the province. The meeting, held at the Central Police Office, saw the participation of Additional IG Karachi, DIG CTD, Special Branch, Zone, and all Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Police Rangers through video link. The IGP underscored the importance of implementing directives from the newly appointed Sindh Chief Minister regarding the establishment of peace and order in the province. He emphasized the need for concrete action plans to ensure effective implementation of security measures in light of public concerns.

He stressed the urgent need for increased police presence at police stations across all districts, along with enhanced patrolling in streets, markets, and neighborhoods to reassure citizens of their safety and security.

Mukhtar Raja emphasized that maintaining peace and security involves the collective efforts of the police force and other law enforcement agencies, with a focus on meeting public expectations. Furthermore, Mukhtar Raja issued directives to take swift and uniform action against the sale and use of police lights, stressing that flashing lights on any vehicle besides police patrol cars should be strictly prohibited. He instructed to ensure heightened security for all high-traffic areas, including highways, to safeguard travelers and cargo vehicles, with comprehensive policing actions such as patrolling, snap-checking, and search operations against illicit activities.

The IGP called for intensified efforts at the district and police station levels to combat illegal arms trading, aerial firing, and organized crime, aiming to bring individuals and groups involved in unlawful activities under the full force of the law. He emphasized that no compromises should be made in the pursuit of justice and order, without resorting to any undue pressure or coercion.
