The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh has instructed police officers, particularly in Karachi, to ramp up patrolling efforts to ensure the safety of citizens. During a meeting chaired by the IG Sindh, strategies were discussed to enhance citizen safety during Ramadan. Emphasis was placed on intensifying patrolling, especially in Karachi’s various zones, to boost vigilance and deter criminal activities, particularly street crimes which tend to increase during this period.

Additionally, the IG Sindh highlighted the importance of snap-checking operations to prevent street crime and swiftly respond to any suspicious activities. Collaboration with stakeholders from various sectors was stressed to develop a comprehensive security and traffic management plan for Ramadan.

In efforts to further strengthen security measures, the IG Sindh proposed assigning special responsibilities to police commandos to maintain law and order effectively throughout the holy month.
