IG Sindh Raffat Mukhtar Raja, chaired a comprehensive review meeting to evaluate the security arrangements and current state of peace in preparation for the elections here on Saturday. The meeting, held at the Central Police Office in Karachi, included the participation of Additional IG Karachi, DIGs Headquarters, Traffic, AIGs Operations, MT, Establishment, and Zone DIGs via video link. IG Sindh emphasized the heightened enthusiasm among the public regarding the upcoming elections and stated that Sindh Police and its actions are centered around fulfilling the expectations of the citizens in terms of security and peace.
He acknowledged the potential attempts by disruptive elements to undermine security but stressed the need for all ranges, districts, and zones to enhance their security arrangements through the wholehearted cooperation and support of the public.
While considering past incidents, IG Sindh urged for a more rigorous implementation of the security plan and its priorities by incorporating crime analysis into the decision-making process. He emphasized that extraordinary security measures should play a crucial role in thwarting the nefarious intentions and objectives of elements seeking to disrupt peace and stability. Suspicious activities and initiatives should not only be diligently noted but also citizens should be actively engaged through awareness and publicity campaigns in cooperation with the police. IG Sindh highlighted the importance of maintaining a state of readiness and alertness for security deployments around sensitive installations, crucial government and private buildings, and other vital points.
He called for a robust and uninterrupted communication system during the election period, emphasizing the continuous monitoring of entries into regions. He concluded by emphasizing the timely and uninterrupted implementation of the security plan, constant monitoring of the situation, and special directives for patrolling, random snap-checking, checkpoints, and surveillance to maintain law and order effectively.
