IG Sindh, Ghulam NabiMemon chaired a significant meeting to discuss the Sindh Police Health Insurance Policy. The meeting brought together key figures including DIGs of Establishment, Headquarters, IT, Finance, Admin Karachi, and AIGs of Finance, Welfare, Logistics, Admin, and PR.
Additionally, DIGs from Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, and SSP Larkana participated via video link. During the session, the DIG Finance provided an update on the progress and steps taken regarding the Sindh Police Health Insurance Policy.
The policy has received approval from the Sindh Cabinet, and the Finance Department is expected to release the funds soon. Health cards for all police employees will be issued by the insurance company. Assistance from NADRA is being sought to prepare family trees for officers.
Training for welfare officers on the use of health insurance facilities in hospitals will begin immediately. IG Sindh emphasized the need for raising awareness about the policy and instructed all officers to ensure that relevant districts and units are informed. It is crucial for every police officer and their families to understand how to use the policy effectively.
IG Sindh also highlighted the importance of upgrading police hospitals and dispensaries to improve basic facilities. Providing these essential services is expected to alleviate economic issues faced by officers and their families.
