IG review progress on police martyrs’ cases

A high-level meeting chaired by Sindh Inspector General (IG) of Police, GhulamNabiMemon, reviewed the progress of investigations into cases involving police martyrs and injured officers.

Held at the Central Police Office in Karachi, the meeting was attended by Karachi Police Chief, various DIGs, CTD, Investigation and Crime Branch, Headquarters, East, West, and South Zones of Karachi, along with AIGs, Admin, Operations, and all district SSPs and SPs of Karachi. Representatives from Larkana, Hyderabad, SBA, and Mirpurkhas joined via video link.

During the meeting, zonal DIGs and other regional DIGs briefed on the progress of investigations into cases involving martyrs and injured officers in their respective districts. Various factors were discussed regarding these investigations.

IG Sindh GhulamNabiMemon requested details about the recent attack on police personnel in Ghotki. He announced that the Counter-Terrorism Department would be assigned the responsibility of investigating the cases of martyred police officers and emphasized the need for extraordinary measures to apprehend suspects involved in police killings.

IG Sindh directed an acceleration of intelligence-based and combing operations to capture named suspects. He also stated that police teams demonstrating excellent performance in investigating martyrs’ cases would be rewarded, while poor performance would result in reprimands.
