LAHORE – Inspector General Railways Police Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan visited the railway land and installations on Shah Bukhari Road in Rawalpindi that were recently recovered during an anti-encroachment operation and issued directives to prevent illegal occupation of the land in future.
During the visit, accompanied by the Senior Superintendent Railways Police Rawalpindi and DSP RP-A, the IG directed officers to ensure that no encroachments reappear on the retrieved railway land under any circumstances.
He said protection of railway land and assets was among the primary responsibilities of Railways Police and stressed that the recovered properties should be utilized effectively to enhance the revenue of Pakistan Railways.
He instructed the concerned officers to maintain continuous monitoring of the sites and coordinate closely with railway authorities to ensure productive use of the land for the benefit of the national institution.
Later, the IG Railways Police visited the under-construction SRP Office and related buildings at PRP Rawalpindi, where he reviewed the pace of development work.
He directed officials to complete the remaining construction work at the earliest in accordance with the revised PC-1 and emphasized making the auditorium and administrative block operational in coordination with railway authorities.
During the inspection, he also reviewed sanitation conditions at the construction site and ordered immediate removal of debris, bushes and wild plants.
The IG Railways Police later visited Hassan Railway Police Lines Rawalpindi, where he inspected residential and office facilities and issued instructions regarding further development works.
He also stressed maintaining cleanliness and an improved environment within the police lines.
