IG launches ‘ApnaGhar’ scheme for police fraternity

A special event was held at the Police Headquarters, Garden South, under the management of the National Police Foundation (NPF), with Inspector General of Police Sindh, Ghulam NabiMemon, attending as the chief guest.

The event was also attended by senior police officials, including the Additional IG Karachi, zonal DIGs, district SSPs, MD NPF Irfan Zaman  Khan, MD Sabir Hussain, Assistant Director Naveed Akhtar, and other officers from various police units. Speaking at the event, MD NPF SabirHussain highlighted that the National Police Foundation was established by ShaheedZulfiqar Ali Bhutto. He further announced the launch of the “ApnaGhar” scheme, an important initiative aimed at providing housing to police personnel.

“Our objective is solely to support the welfare of the police, including health, education, and medical facilities,” said Sabir. He also mentioned that several builders were partnering on the project and that the foundation would take responsibility for the first down payment for the plots. Sabir further revealed that the idea of providing interest-free electric motorcycles to police employees came from the IG Sindh, who would officially launch the scheme. MD IrfanZaman Khan, during his address, shared that, for the first time in the history of Sindh Police, electric bikes would be provided to police personnel on easy, interest-free installments.

He added that these motorcycles would be allocated to the zonal DIGs’ teams. Khan also announced that NPF would cover the first 50,000 rupees of the down payment for the first 2,000 plots in the police housing society, which would also feature an NPF-owned hospital, IBM University, and TCF School. He reiterated that the primary goal of NPF is to ensure the well-being of police officers and their families.
