IG demands performance report from RPOs, DPOs

Inspector General of Police Shoaib Dastagir directed all RPOs and DPOs to submit the police action details against the criminal and anti-social elements, intelligence-based operation must also be sped up to protect the lives and properties of citizens.
He further directed to review the security plan of sensitive installations, religious places, educational institutes and public places ensuring a briefing to the security duty officials regarding sensitivity and challenges of the duty.
In this regard, Pakpattan DPO Sahabzada Bilal Omar while sharing the progress of February said that the police teams were working day and night to eliminate anti-social elements, drugs dealers and to improve the public service delivery projects.
He further shared that during first half of February police teams arrested 55 proclaimed offenders including 4 of A-category and 51 of B-category, 21 court absconders, 24 target offenders and recovering a large amount of drugs and unlicensed weapons from 63 culprits in different operations.
He further said that in action against drug peddlers 29 cases were registered and 29 accused arrested while 2.70 KG heroine, 6.285 KG Charas, 384 Bottles liquor were recovered, also 34 accused were arrested on possession of unlicensed weapons including 1 rifle, 08 guns 25 pistols 129 bullets were recovered from them. On the violation of tenant registration act 3 FIR were registered and 3 accused were arrested while 4 accused were arrested due to open sale of petrol against the law.
During actions against illegal refilling or sale of Gas 2 accused were arrested after registering 2 cases, 5 accused were arrested regarding electricity theft cases and stolen goods of total value of Rs. 1761700 were also recovered from various culprits. Snipe checking and search operations are also being conducted across the district to uphold the rule of law and to uproot the criminal elements.
