IESCO to ensure safety of human life

The IESCO management has always taken practical steps to protect human lives, such as the safe passage of wires passing through houses in all operation circles of the IESCO region including Islamabad, Rawalpindi City, Rawalpindi Cantt, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum by moving wires passing near homes to safer places, replacing weak and crooked poles of electricity.

Explaining the details, IESCO Chief Dr Muhammad Amjad Khan said that during the ongoing campaign on the instructions of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), 8975 electricity hazards were reported by esteemed consumers and IESCO field formations out of which 8113 points have been secured by taking timely action and the cost incurred on them which is estimated to be more than 1404 Million is borne by IESCO.

Chief Executive IESCO has requested the esteemed customers not to risk their lives and the lives of their loved ones for the sake of petty gain and to refrain from any kind of construction under or near electrical installations as it is a dangerous act as well an illegal offense.

CEO IESCO requested valued customers to report such wires grossing over their homes or surroundings to the relevant SDO office numbers, helpline number 118 or complaint and monitoring cell numbers 051-9252933.

In addition consumer also sent such report via SMS to 8118 so that human lives can be saved by taking timely action. —PR
