On the instructions of the Government of Pakistan and the Ministry of Energy, the operation launched from 7 September 2023 to suppress electricity thieves is ongoing in all IESCO circles, in which IESCO enforcement agencies police and district administration are continuing joint operations.
During the month of December 2023, IESCO’s detection teams checked 95,734 connections of different tariffs, of which 2026 meters were found slow, 4 meters were tempered, while direct supply of electricity was being taken from 74 meters.
Fine of 64.8 million was imposed by charging 1.39 million units while 27 electricity thieves were also arrested by the police.
