ISLAMABAD – Pakistani citizens are required to update their marital status in the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) records after marriage.
For modification, applicants must first obtain a computerized marriage certificate from the relevant Union Council, Cantonment Board or Municipal Committee.
After receiving the certificate, they can visit a nearby NADRA Registration Centre with the CRMS number.
Citizens also have the option of updating their marital status from home through the Pak ID mobile application.
For applicants who only want to update their marital status in the NADRA database without receiving a newly printed physical CNIC, the local fee is Rs100.
Modification Fees
Those seeking a physical modification or a reprinted identity card reflecting the change, such as the addition of a spouse’s name, are required to pay the applicable modification fee.
CNIC Modification:
Rs400 — 15-day processing
Rs1,150 — 12-day processing
Rs2,150 — 6-day processing
Smart NIC Modification:
Rs750 — 31-day processing
Rs1,500 — 23-day processing
Rs2,500 — 9-day processing
Citizens can therefore choose between updating their marital status without printing a new card or obtaining a modified/reprinted identity card, depending on their requirements.
