LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the Electric Bike Scheme 2026 for students across the province, under which 100,000 electric bikes will be distributed among eligible students.
Under the initiative, female students will receive electric bikes free of cost, while male students will be provided bikes through affordable and interest-free installment plans.
The scheme aims to support students by improving access to transportation and making daily travel easier.
Eligibility Criteria
Students applying for the scheme must meet the following requirements:
The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
The student must be enrolled in a recognised degree college or university.
The educational institution must be approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The applicant must have a valid Punjab domicile.
The student must possess a valid motorcycle driving licence or learner’s permit.
The applicant must not own any registered motor vehicle.
According to the scheme rules, only one person from each family will be eligible to receive an electric bike, even if multiple siblings meet the criteria.
How to Apply
Applications for the Punjab Electric Bike Scheme will only be accepted through the official online portal of the Punjab government (https://bikes.punjab.gov.pk/).
Applicants will need to:
Register or log in using their CNIC and personal contact details.
Complete the online application form.
Upload the required documents.
Submit the application.
Wait for verification and the computerised balloting process.
Successful applicants will be selected through a transparent digital balloting system after completion of the verification process.
