CALIFORNIA – Johnny Depp, famously known as one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood and star of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, is reportedly facing a severe financial crisis.
The international media reported that there was a time when Johnny Depp was counted among the most successful actors in Hollywood. Blockbusters such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts earned him worldwide fame.
In 2012, the Guinness World Records named Depp the highest-paid actor in the world, and by 2014, his net worth was estimated at $900 million.
However, over time, financial mismanagement and legal troubles took a toll on Depp’s fortune. His former managers at TMG claimed that Depp was spending over $2 million per month including $30,000 on wine alone.
Extravagant expenses also included private islands, luxury jewelry and a large personal staff.
According to foreign media reports, Depp himself admitted to having lost $650 million over the years and at one point found himself $100 million in debt.
Now at the age of 61, Johnny Depp is working to make a comeback in Hollywood and rebuild his financial stability. His upcoming film, The Day Drinker, is set to release in 2026, and it is being seen as a potential major return to the spotlight following his divorce from Amber Heard.
