Hot, dry weather to prevail

Islamabad—Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next 12 hours, whereas severe heat wave conditions would continue over plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan. There was no respite from the scorching heat in Lahore as the maximum temperature touched season’s highest of 46 degrees celsius in the city on Wednesday.
According to the local Met office, the maximum temperature at Karachi was 37 degrees celsius, Islamabad 42, Quetta 33, Peshawar 43, Sialkot 44. The office predicted very hot and dry weather all over the country, including the provincial capital, during current week.
The low elevation agricultural plains of Punjab will be the centre of heat where day temperatures will cross over 45øC and central parts will touch a critical level of 50øC during the coming days.—APP
