LAHORE – Buyers of motorcycles, cars and other vehicles are required to get them registered with the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department as they can face fines for using them without registration.

The Punjab Excise Department is responsible for the registration of vehicles across the province. This process ensures that all motor vehicles are legally documented and identifiable.

Vehicle owners must provide necessary documents such as proof of ownership, CNIC, and sales invoice.

Once verified, the department issues a registration number and certificate. The registration helps in tracking vehicles, ensuring road safety, and preventing theft.

It also facilitates tax collection and compliance with traffic laws. The Punjab government has also introduced online services, making the vehicle registration process more efficient, transparent, and accessible for citizens across urban and rural areas.
